A new year’s approach

And here we are at the close of another year. Through all the difficulties and uncertainties of this past year I hope you have also found time for appreciation, happiness, and wonder. May you look back on 2021 as a year fully-lived, and look forward to the new year with hope and joy in a new day’s dawning.

An amazing year, and a wish for 2019

I am amazed at the sights and experiences I’ve enjoyed in the past year of 2018.  I’ve chosen one photo from each month to help me remember all the adventures I’ve had and all the beauty and marvels I’ve been lucky enough to enjoy.

Here’s wishing you a new year of joy and loveliness, adventures to take you down paths you haven’t been before, and an appreciation for the world around us and the people accompanying us on our journey.

A sea of tulips

Spring is here and our weather warmed up quickly to hearken all the flowers into bloom.  The garden beds are filled with daffodils and tulips, and the red bud trees have added their color too.  It’s a beautiful time to wonder at the multitude of colors that now surround us.

And on Mother’s Day, a special thank you to mothers everywhere.  Although my mother passed away four years ago, I still think of her everyday and appreciate all the lessons I learned from her.  Take a moment and thank those mothers that are near and dear to you.

A new year

12-photos-of-2016_staatsA new year – a clean slate.  And yet I find myself marveling at the past year.  To encapsulate the year with one photo for each month is a challenge.  2016 was filled with new adventures, new sights, and an appreciation for the people that surround me as well as the beauty that’s available to us each and every day.  I wish you all a new year of wonder and joy, amazement and appreciation, happiness and love.

Easter and spring-time

Peeps upclose_StaatsToday is Easter — a celebration of hope, spring, and renewal.  So many things come to mind when I think of Easter, but one that brings a smile to my face are Peeps.  With their sugar-coating, the beady eyes and pointed beaks, these purple peeps remind me of the child-like wonder that made Easter so special when we were young.  My Easter and spring wish for you is a renewal of that hope and wonder we all search for at this time of year.
